Hypnotherapy is a fast and effective talking therapy that uses hypnosis – a state similar to meditation or simply being immersed in a gripping book or film – to facilitate positive change. It enables us to find the root cause of unwanted feelings, thoughts and behaviors, so you can move from having the desire to change to the ability to do so.

All of our present habits, behaviors and thought patterns are the result of past subconscious programming – imprinting, from parents, family members, friends, teachers, colleagues, experiences and cultural examples, such as you see on film and TV. What happens to us between the ages of 0 and 6 is particularly key.

Most of these imprints are useful and help us to navigate our daily lives, giving us necessary and appropriate automatic reactions. However, some programming may have helped in the past but is now causing issues in the present, leading to thoughts or reactions that make us unhappy. This is precisely what I can help you with using hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy works by enabling the conscious and subconscious to find agreement. Problems occur when the two are misaligned – when the subconscious causes reactions that are not helpful to the way you live your life, and your automatic responses to stress and other triggers are causing issues.

As your hypnotherapist, I will guide you to explore and understand the relationship between your conscious mind’s decision-making and subconscious mind’s reactions, so you can realign the two and correct negative patterns.

It is a practical rather than a medical form of neuroscience, as anything done with repetition creates a pattern or neural network in the brain.
